Introduction

The Department of Logistics Management (LM) was established in 2000. As one of the departments of the college of Management in Shu-Te University (STU), it enrolled a class for undergraduate and a group for graduate school of business and administration at this stage.

In Kaohsiung area, in addition to the existing industrial parks and exporting processing zones, Lu Chu Science Based Industrial Park and Maritime Trade Center and Commerce Park are well under development. The LM department will reinforce communication with industries as well as look for opportunities of field visits and practices. In addition, to incubate management graduates with profound theoretical and practical backgrounds, we will continue to invite professionals with extensive experiences to teach or deliver speeches in the department.

The ultimate goal of the LM department is to support national industrial development and to increase the productivity and competitive of industries. To achieve this goal, the students are expected to acquire capabilities for rationalization, systematization and computerization of industrial and logistics management, as follows:

1. Analysis, planning, and improvement of production systems.

2. Improvement of product or service quality.

3. The new techniques of logistics system.

4. Transportation management.

Curriculum

The program of bachelor degree is designed for completion within 4 years. The minimum credits to obtain the bachelor degree is 135 and the total credits required for LM department is 72 (51 credits for core courses and 21 credits for elective courses).
